Classy Mickelson Wins Masters

Oh the irony...
The big story about the 2010 Masters was supposed to be the tale of Tiger Woods.
In his first tournament since his world flipped upside down, all eyes were on Tiger.
How would he do?
How would the fans react?
After his best Thursday ever at Augustsa, I was sure this would be Tiger's tournament. And what a story that would have been...but the man who claimed he would respect the game more and control himself better on the golf course showed that a Tiger cannot change his stripes. (I for one did not want him to change his approach to the game...that competitive spirit made Tiger the best...take that away and would you have the same player). Still he said he would change...he did not. He threw his clubs, cussed and was typical Tiger during a brief CBS interview following his final round.
Instead of congratulating Phil Mickelson, Tiger acted like a sore loser.
Lefty on the other hand was a class act...he handled the pressure of the final round with a couple of great par saves. He birdied the 18th hole to win by three shots.
What made it special was the raw emotion he showed, the tears flowing when he embraced his wife following the round. Amy had not been at a tournament for 11 months while battling breast cancer...Phil's Mom was there...she too is battling breast cancer. Phil said he wanted to win one for the family, and he did.
Leading up to the 2010 Masters the headlines were all about Tiger...the lasting images though will be Phil embracing his wife.
